EGK attaches great importance to the protection of your privacy when processing your personal data and complies with the applicable data protection regulations.
It is essentially possible to use the EGK online services without disclosing any personal data. However, should you wish to use certain online services (including but not limited to the insured client platform, the newsletter, course booking and product orders, etc.), you may be required to register and to enter personal information in connection with that registration. By voluntarily disclosing your data when you register, you consent to the processing of personal data in accordance with this privacy statement.
In analog contact with EGK (e.g. at events, via the competition form), you as an interested party consent to the processing of personal data in accordance with this privacy statement by voluntarily disclosing your data.
We process the data entered by you on our online services in order to continue improving the advice we provide, for market research and advertising purposes, to provide our products and services, to hold courses and training, and to serve you as part of our membership programmes and look after the health data that you provide us with as part of these programmes.
‘Processing’ refers to any operation, whether supported by an automatic procedure or not, or any series of such operations which is connected with personal data. Examples include data collection, recording, organisation, structuring, storage, amendment or modification, retrieval, querying, usage, disclosure by means of transmission, dissemination or any other form of provision, reconciliation or linking, reduction, deletion or destruction.
In collecting and processing personal data, EGK is justified by your consent, contractual fulfilment, and its legitimate interests. Where the law requires additional consent, this is obtained from the data subject.
You have the right at any time to request written information about the personal data that is stored about you or to ask that it be amended or deleted. Such requests should be sent to the EGK Data Protection Officer (address given below) by regular post, accompanied by a verified copy of an official identification document. Post offices or local government offices will produce verified copies of official identification documents against presentation of the original. Should you believe that your data is being processed in a way which violates data protection law, you can also report this to our Data Protection Officer.
You also have the right at any time to revoke your consent to your data being processed. This notice must be given in writing.
In the absence of statutory obligations or official instructions to the contrary, your personal data will be stored for as long as is necessary to provide the service which is the underlying reason for processing that data.
EGK has instituted a large number of technical and organisational measures to ensure the greatest possible protection of the data that has been recorded. Notwithstanding this, the transmission of data via the internet can fundamentally entail security vulnerabilities so absolute protection cannot be guaranteed. For this reason, EGK accepts no liability whatsoever for data theft and its resulting unlawful processing. Please update regularly the security settings of the systems you use.
