Nettle Mojito (non-alcoholic)

The green herbal notes and lively citrus freshness make this drink the perfect, uncomplicated choice for warm evenings.

Zutaten

Makes 2–3 drinks (approx. 7 dl)

100 g Salat 50 g Kräuter

Optional

½ Stück Salatgurke
2 Scheiben Limetten 2 Zweige Minze

Zubereitung

Limette und Äpfel gut waschen und in Stücke schneiden.

Alle Zutaten durch einen Entsafter geben Achtung: Handschuhe bei den Brennnesseln tragen.

Einige Eiswürfel in die gewünschten Gläser geben.

Den Brennnesselsaft auf die Gläser gleichmässig aufteilen.

Mit Tonic oder Mineralwasser auffüllen.

Mit Limettenscheibe und Minze dekorieren.

Tip

  • If using mineral water, you may wish to sweeten it with a little agave syrup to taste.
  • If you don’t have a juicer, you can purée the nettle leaves together with the mint and 1–2 dl of water, then strain through a cloth. Top up with apple juice and tonic water, add ice cubes, and serve.

Caro and Tobi Thaler have been creating recipes for EGK’s herbal newsletter since 2022. Both completed an apprenticeship as chefs, but later went on to pursue different career paths: Caro in the social sector, and Tobi in the technology industry. Their passion for cooking has remained, and they share this passion under the motto ‘life is colourful’ on their recipe portal foodwerk.ch, amongst other places.
