Good to know

  • It is possible to take out the insurance up to the age of 60.
  • Dental certificate required from the age of 3. Confirmation that dentition is fully restored and functional.
  • Waiting period of 12 months from the start of the contract. No cover for treatment during this time.
  • Benefits for treatment by federally certified dentists and cantonally licensed specialists in Switzerland. Exceptions can be made on request for service providers in neighbouring countries.
  • Bills can be conveniently submitted digitally via myEGK.

    From when does insurance cover apply?

    There is a waiting period of 12 months from the start of the contract. Treatment during this period is not covered – the waiting period also applies if you switch to higher insurance.

    Can I combine EGK-DENT with another health insurer?

    Yes – EGK-DENT is supplementary insurance and can be taken out independently of your basic insurance.

    What is the difference between EGK-DENT and EGK-SUN?

    EGK-DENT is a pure dental insurance that only covers dental treatment. 

    EGK-SUN is comprehensive supplementary insurance covering complementary medicine, free choice of hospital and orthodontics for children. But without specific cover for dental treatment such as EGK-DENT.
