Our special EGK-TelCare basic insurance model provides you with free access to the highest quality medical advice and treatment 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Behind EGK-TelCare is the Medgate Tele Clinic, where doctors are available to offer advice and treatment by phone or video and, if necessary, work with you to assess whether you need medical treatment where you are and with what urgency. However, you can also access the Medgate Partner medical centres if you wish to consult a doctor directly.
If you choose EGK-TelCare for your basic insurance, you should first contact the Medgate Tele Clinic or visit a Medgate Partner medical centre for any medical questions.. You will receive a premium discount from us and at the same time benefit from expert and high-quality medical care.
Treatments are determined together with you.
If your medical concern cannot be treated by phone or video consultation, the Medgate Tele Clinic will refer you to the right, mutually agreed-upon expert.

Also in emergencies in Switzerland or during short stays abroad, you can visit a doctor without a previous call to the Medgate Tele Clinic. However, emergencies must be reported to the Medgate Tele Clinic within 10 days.
EGK-TelCare with artificial intelligence
Thanks to artificial intelligence, policyholders of EGK-Gesundheitskasse now have access to a new symptom checker in the Medgate app. Upon entering your symptoms, you will receive a recommendation to see either a Medgate doctor for telemedical treatment or your GP or a specialist for direct treatment.
