BetterDoc: The right therapeutic partner choice

How do I know my doctor is the most qualified for my knee pain? What should I do if the doctor advises back surgery and I am unsure? Thanks to BetterDoc, all it takes is a phone call or online contact to get a free second opinion or specific advice for exactly such questions.

BetterDoc is about using a combination of human and artificial intelligence to find the ideal match between a patient and a doctor. With the knowledge of particularly specialized doctors with high quality, the course of treatment should be optimal. In other words, no overuse, underuse or misuse, but also a reduced risk of complications, chronic courses and uncoordinated changes of doctors.

Low-threshold and voluntary

The BetterDoc information and referral service is not a mandatory requirement for our insured persons to receive medical support, even if they are insured in EGK-TelCare or EGK-Care with defined first medical contact. Also, BetterDoc recommendations do not have a binding character, but are free advice. The specialists behind BetterDoc are also independent in their recommendations and are supported by an expert advisory board in the interests of quality assurance. There is also no preferred medical specialty, which includes complementary medicine.

This fall, the one-year pilot phase with BetterDoc was completed. Most of the cases handled during this period involved obtaining a second opinion on a finding that had already been diagnosed or had been under treatment for some time. Three quarters of the inquiring insureds were interested in a second opinion and the most suitable doctor, specialist or hospital in this case.
