In the event of a claim, treatment costs should be reimbursed as quickly as possible. To ensure efficient processing, the accident must be reported to EGK or the relevant authority via the accident report form.
Who to report the accident to:
- If you work for the same employer for more than 8 hours a week, their accident insurance is responsible for both non-occupational and occupational accidents.
- If you work for the same employer for fewer than 8 hours a week, you are insured against occupational accidents whilst at work, including on your journey to and from work. Non-occupational accidents must be reported to your health insurance provider.
- Children, people not in employment and pensioners are covered against accidents through their health insurance.
- If you are receiving unemployment benefit, accident cover is provided by Suva. Enquiries regarding this should be directed to the unemployment benefit office.
-
If you wish another person to manage your insurance matters, you can grant them power of attorney.
