Last Sunday, the 69th Basel-Landschaft team orienteering race took place in Laufen with around 1,000 sportsmen and sportswomen. Accompanied by sunny autumn weather, orienteering newcomers and routiniers explored the "Stürmenchopf" running area, which is quite challenging from an orienteering point of view. Reto Flury, Managing Director, and Patrick Tanner, Head of ICT, with the veterans Simone Niggli-Luder and Matthias Niggli, as well as Patrick Bucher, Group Head of Benefits Accident/Dental/Daily Allowance, and his team completed the demanding "Black Course" of 6.1 kilometres.
The teams achieved a good 9th place with 1:13:37 (Flury/Tanner/Niggli-Luder/Niggli) and 13th place with 1:26:49 (Bucher/Baschung/Stalder). They were beaten by a razor-thin margin by the team of Christoph Hollenstein, who has been the company doctor of the EGK-Gesundheitskasse for more than 15 years.
Pascal Bolliger, sales manager, and his three daughters also achieved a great success in the family category with a distance of 3.1 km.
